Hsin-Ling received her B.Sc and M.Sc in the Department of Engineering and System Science from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. She then worked as an R&D engineer at the Taiwan-based polyimide film manufacturer Taimide Technology. In 2009 she was admitted to doctoral studies in Germany as a DAAD scholarship holder and obtained her Dr. rer. nat. (D.Sc.) in 2013 from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Institute of Organic Chemistry. Her thesis focused on studies of nematic and smectic liquid crystalline order in the spherical shell geometry, involving microfluidic fabrication of small molecular and elastomeric liquid crystal shells and polarising microscopy. Hsin-Ling Joined the P&S Group in April 2014, and her current research focuses on dye-doped liquid crystals and the roll-to-roll production of liquid crystal panels.

Dr. Hsin-Ling Liang is (or has formerly been) affiliated with Cambridge University and Photonics and Sensors Group, University of Cambridge.
