I graduated with a BSc. in Physics with Maths from Reading University in 1991. Then I moved to Queen Mary and Westfield college (QMW) at the University of London, where I gained an MSc. in (Medical) Radiation Physics and then a PhD in Spectroscopy and Solid State Physcis. I took my first PDRA position at QMW with the Astronomy Instrumentation Group (AIG) and relocated with them to Cardiff in 2001. In 2005 I became a member of Academic staff and am currently a Senior Lecturer. I continue to work within the AIG (quasi optics and spectroscopy), but also extend this world-leading technology to biophysics fields.
