St̩phanie joined Heriot Watt University as a Research Associate in the Applied Optics and Photonics Group in October 2008. Her research primarily involves high power laser marking to suit various commercial applications. Her current interests include the development of technology for the rapid manufacture of high precision optical encoders in joint collaboration with industrial partners. Prior to joining the department, she graduated in 2008 with a PhD in physics from the Institute of Photonics of the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow, where she worked on the development of IR VECSELs for laser projection display systems in partnership with industry. She holds a DEA in Applied Physics and a DESS in Optoelectronics, Signal and Images.
Dr Stephanie Giet is (or has formerly been) affiliated with Applied Optics and Photonics Research, Heriot Watt University and Heriot-Watt University.
