Matthias is a research fellow under the supervision of Prof Rob W Eason working on laser-assisted subtractive, additive and modifying micro-fabrication techniques. He graduated (Dipl.-Ing.) in electronics engineering from Universität Stuttgart (Germany) and in telecommunications (MSc) from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), studying the passivation of silicon solar cells for his dissertation. Recently, he obtained a PhD degree in Photonics from the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton with the title ‘Laser-induced forward transfer of intact, solid-phase inorganic materials’. His main research interest is in the field of thin film technology, and he has worked both in industrial and academic environments to develop electronic and photonic devices.

Matthias Feinäugle is (or has formerly been) affiliated with Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton and University of Southampton.
