The current activities of the High Power Optoelectronics research strand include: the development and application of accurate and efficient laser diode simulation tools; the development of new device concepts for high-brightness laser diodes and bars; the development of new characterisation methods for laser bars and materials; the development of new methods for the investigation and numerical emulation of high-power laser degradation and failure processes.
